HSLDA Privacy Policy
HSLDA collects individual information in the following ways:
- Annual memberships and membership renewals
- Through purchases online, through the mail, over the phone, and at conferences
- Through personal discussions with members during the provision of legal assistance
HSLDA stores information in the following ways:
- All personal information is carefully filed so as to remain accessible to staff
- All personal information is only accessible to HSLDA staff and in the event of new staff
being hired, they are fully appraised of our privacy policy before they are given access to the files
- All personal information is either locked from unauthorized access or under the supervision of a staff
member who is aware of HSLDA's privacy policy
HSLDA uses personal information for internal purposes in the following ways:
- Our lawyers have access to the personal files of all clients. This personal information is, of course,
protected under solicitor client privilege. All staff are appraised of the standards under solicitor
client privilege and keep to the same level of privacy protection.
- Our lawyers and staff only access information to provide assistance to our clients.
- Under certain circumstances, HSLDA may review files for home education research, Court Report and
Communiqué articles, or other similar reasons. The information found will never be disclosed outside
our office without the consent of the individual affected.
- In the event that a non-member orders product, we only use their information to process the financial
aspect of the order and to ship the product to them. Their personal information is not used thereafter
HSLDA distributes member information externally in the following ways:
- HSLDA will never distribute private information to outside sources unless we have the consent of
the individual in question
