Payment Plans

Authorized Automatic Payments:
HSLDA offers a payment plan that allows you to pay for membership in automatic monthly installments from your Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card or your chequing account. Amounts due will depend on whether or not you qualify for a discount. HSLDA normally sends out renewal notices approximately six weeks before your membership anniversary date. However, if you choose to use authorized payments then we will automatically renew your membership and you will instead receive new membership cards for the coming year the month before your anniversary date.

1. Can I submit cash or a money order, or a voided cheque for the payment plan?
No, HSLDA's payment plan can only be used with a Visa or MasterCard credit card. This is because we automatically debit the account information for you each month.

2. Does HSLDA send out monthly or quarterly bills or reminders?
No, HSLDA does not send out reminders or bills. The payments are directly debited from your account between the 15th and 20th of the appropriate month.

3. When will the payments be debited from my credit card?
Your first payment will always be processed immediately. Subsequent monthly payments will be debited between the 15th and 20th of each month.

4. How do I cancel?
Membership is for a minimum term of one year. You may cancel the automatic charges at any time by paying the balance due for the remainder of the current membership year.

Cancellation of your payment schedule must be made in writing and signed. You must clearly include your name, membership account number, and checking or credit/debit card account information. This request can be mailed to:

5. How can I update my changed or expired credit card information?
Mail, fax, or email the updated information or call our office and we will be pleased to update the information over the phone (519-913-0318).
